Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer aided engineering, product life cycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling system, transport system, aircraft, watercraft, robotics and weapons. Mechanical engineering science emerged in the 19th century as a result of development in the field of physics. The field has continually evolved to incorporate advancement in technology, and mechanical engineers today are pursuing developments in such fields as composites, mechatronics and nanotechnology.

The department is in existence since the year 2009, with an ive to impart quality education for developing technically sound, ethically strong and competent mechanical engineers. The department offers diploma in mechanical engineering that covers wide range of courses in the field of thermal and fluid sciences, engineering design, dynamics and control, materials and manufacturing, and modeling and simulation; to suit the interests of students and meet the industry requirements. The department of mechanical engineering is proud to have an illustrious faculty that has ensured a high degree of success for its pupils. Mechanical Engineering Lab:
This department has computer lab for CAD/CAM, CNC, MATLAB and other computer related labs with latest hardware specification and software.
The laboratory also satisfies the requirement of Workshop practice, Machine shop and Fluid Power with pneumatic circuit kit. In total this Laboratory is a complete in facility to the students to acquire the practical knowledge equivalent to the present technology. The students are trained with C programming, Mechatronics and parametric solid modeling.
